Cowboy Poet

Koby won a poetry contest at school and was able to perform his poem at the college with the other winners from the district for the "Cowboy Poet Gathering". He did great and his poem was awesome! Unfortunately, we didn't get it recorded!

Storm Dream

Once I was out on the range

when I saw a thunder cloud roll in;

lightning cracked like a bull whip,

thunder banged like a shotgun.

Two bulls rammed their horns,

stomped their hooves on the rock,

snorted their nostrils, shooting snot;

the others joined in

until the ground shook like an earthquake.

Dust rose from the ground,

the river rose like tsunamis,

my horse charged like a bullet!

My clothes were soaked as if I'd been swimming.

I lost all sight of cattle,

then I woke up with that dream in my head.
